School Uniform

Parents are required to support the School’s uniform rules and to contact the school if they have a query regarding suitable styles or suppliers.


All pupils are expected to wear the Governors agreed School uniform. The uniform is as follows below:

  • School Tie
  • School Jumper with School logo
  • Plain Black Trousers/Plain Black Skirt (not too short or tight)
  • White Shirt
  • Flat Black School Shoes
  • Plain Black Tights
  • Plain Black Belt


School Jumpers

Years 7-11 - Black, red band on V-neck, embroidered school badge

Years 12-13 - Black, white band on V-neck, embroidered school badge


Skirt

Plain black skirt (neither too revealing or tight).


Trousers

Plain black tailored trousers. No leggings or overly tight, revealing trousers will be permitted. No jeans/jeans style.


Shirt

Plain white shirt that is suitable for tucking into skirt or trousers.


Shoes

Plain black, low heeled shoes. Backless shoes are not acceptable. High heels must not be worn. No other colour is acceptable. Trainers/sports shoes are not permitted


Topcoat

A smart and practical all weather coat that can be worn over uniform. Hooded, fleece style tops and flamboyant topcoats with obvious logos, together with denim clothing or leather jackets are forbidden for school use.


Hair

Conventional hairstyles in natural shades only. No excessively short shaved haircuts will be allowed – no tram lines, shaved heads or Mohicans styles along with any unusual/unnatural colouring. Styles which are shoulder length or longer should be tied back off the face for practical subjects where there


Make-Up

Make-up is not permitted. No nail varnish.


Jewellery

Jewellery is restricted to a watch. No other jewellery is permitted.

Failure to comply with the above uniform code will result in your child being asked to change or being sent home to remedy the non-adherance.


ALL ITEMS OF UNIFORM AND PROPERTY SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE OWNER’S NAME

All items of clothing may be bought at any store, as long as the correct colour/style is adhered to. Badged items and school ties are available from The Pencil Case of Cowbridge.

P.E. kit is also available from this supplier.

Bags should be durable and easily carried and be clearly marked with the owner’s name and form.


Technology:

  • Blue apron for Cookery
  • White (unbleached) apron for Craft
  • These must be worn in these specialist subjects.


Physical Education:

  • Black Physical Education Polo Shirt (embroidered with school badge)
  • Black Shorts (Boys) / Black Games Skirt (Girls)
  • Rugby Jersey (Black hooded sweatshirt) (Girls)
  • Rugby Jersey (Black/Red Band) Reversible (Boys)
  • Sports Socks (Black only) (Boys and Girls)
  • Football Boots
  • Trainers
  • Black Tracksuit bottoms (optional)
  • Shin pads for Hockey / Football
  • Gum Shield (advised).

In order to assist parents when it comes to purchasing or replacing uniform, we have added a number of photographs to show our uniform at both Key stages 3, 4 and 5 (Years 7 - 11 and 12-13). These will enable parents to make a better informed choice about trouser styles and acceptable skirt lengths.
